Abstract
Domestic violence is one of the most significant social problems in our country. This issue, which used to be embarrassing, received much attention in 2005 after the adoption of a law combating domestic violence . Our government was obliged to take numerous actions preventing that problem. Many institutions and NGOs, which focused on supporting those who suffer from domestic violence, were created at that time. The victims are predominantly women, however men,
children, the disabled and the elderly often suffer as well. The article refers to that problem and shows different possibilities of supporting the victims ten years after new regulations counteracting family violence were introduced.
