Abstract
The paper describes an educational event organized annually by Zielona Góra University during the Days of Science. However, the text is not merely a report. The Days of Science and above all the event - Etudes in Counseling, inspired the author to reflect upon counseling and advise offered. The paper analyses several elements of counseling which have a significant impact on the planned form of advice (from controlled to offered). These included the place of counseling and relations between the subjects involved (student counselors and passers-by seeking advice) as well the form of taking adyantage of the offer. The author stresses transparency as a new and important form in contemporary counseling and ‘bustling about’ as a less known, but also significant way of counseling. The discus- sion is supported by reflective observation drawn from the areas of sociology (Zygmunt Bauman), pedagogy (Robert Kwaśnica) and philosophy (J. Brach-Czaina).
